As Charge RN at Aspire Health Partners, your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of essential functions to assess, implement and evaluate the nursing care of psychiatric and substance abuse clients in the Inpatient Program. The Charge RN will be responsible for managing all aspects of nursing responsibilities during each shift, from processing patients in and out to delegating nursing rounds and drug administration. Charge RN will also focus on providing the best care possible while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates patient admissions/discharges. Transfer arrangements. Coordinating continuing services and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
- Participates in direct patient care and works as an interdisciplinary team in order to promote the highest standard care.
- Participates fully in-patient rounds and triages patient conditions as necessary and maintains patient condition amongst nursing and support staff.
- Complete and exchange of information between the oncoming and off-going staff by communicating patient care needs and concerns.
- Direct support staff as appropriate in the provision of care of the patient providing supervision as necessary.
- Assign and coordinates patient care and related duties, including following unit schedule.
- Maintain patient records accurately and promptly in accordance with documentation Policy and Procedures.
- Facilitates the orientation to the program for new nursing staff and students. Acts as preceptor/mentor/trainer in order to support and development of new nursing staff and students. Coordinate and co-operate with colleagues of the unit and other related programs for smooth transition operations.
- Assist in developing protocol, identifying and reporting accidents and incidents in accordance to Policy and Procedures.
- Ensures Treatment Plan are complete and coordinated insurance documentation for concurrent reviews and continued authorization.
- Completes/assist with unit scheduling and ADP Payroll
- Rotate on call coverage
- Conducts/assist with Peer Reviews and quality improvement plans (QIP’s)
- Delegate the shift’s tasks to all of the nurses on the unit and coordinate with physicians who might need assistance
- Supervise and guide other nurses in their work
- Supervise Behavioral Heath Tech as they complete their assigned tasks and point out any changes or improvements that need to be made
- Encouraging a culture that promotes staff productivity
- Detect any issues that could result in injuries or other difficulties for patients or staff members
- Inform physicians of any changes in patients’ progress, condition or medicinal needs
- Ensuring that the unit runs efficiently and as per standards and regulations
- Demonstrating leadership while performing nursing care to potentially agitated or combative clients, identifying and assessing client psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious needs, administering client medications and providing knowledge of medications and side effects, documenting client treatment details, assisting physicians with transcriptions and implementation of orders and maintaining compliance by completing necessary training.
- Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Florida RN License

- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver’s license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire Insurance Company, as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
