The Director of Business Office Services oversees the day-to-day registration, admitting, and business office functions. Manage subordinates in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensure that project and department milestones and goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department and registration processes.

Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of admissions, outpatient registration, preregistration, and business office.

General overall management of daytoday activities of subdepartments as they relate to revenue cycle functions, such as admitting, HIM, and billing

Responsible for the efficient and orderly preregistration and registration processes

Responsible for overseeing accurate collection of patient demographics and financial information, and ensures staff are informing patients of their financial obligations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; train and oversee staff to ensure they feel comfortable asking for patients for the copay and deductibles where applicable

Maintain daily audits of all accounts to ensure registration data entered into CPSI is accurate and compliant

Tracks metrics of admits, HIM, and billing department to develop sound revenue cycle analysis

Manage relationships with patients, payers, and providers to generate higher reimbursement rates and lower denial rate

Monitor and trend insurance payer contract terms and percentages and sharing with necessary facility colleagues to ensure compliance; performs annual payer contract reviews

Review and analyze processes within departments to support effectiveness, accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency

Evaluates performance and provides additional training and education of staff as needed

Counsel colleagues on problem areas related to performance and registration

Assure staff are kept abreast of latest updates to hospital policies/regulations impacting compliance and financial outcomes

Supervises work schedules to always ensure proper and adequate shift coverage

The Calhoun Liberty Hospital Association, Inc. (CLHA) contracts with Alliant Management Services for administrative operations and has a formal partnership with Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) to enhance service capabilities and resources available to CLH. CLH is currently constructing a new $40 million state-of-the-art 50,000 square foot facility set to open Summer 2025.
