JOB The purpose of Transportation Services is to increase or maintain the self-sufficiency of eligible individuals by providing access to human and community services through a coordinated transportation system. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Transportation for elderly persons, especially those living in remote rural areas, provide a link to their communities to access needed services and for socialization. Transportation services make it possible to access the senior center, medical services, social services, shopping and recreation. Additionally, vehicles are used for the delivery of home meals.
Priority is given to transporting individuals to and from the senior center and the delivery of home delivered meals. Driver is responsible to check the board for cancellations and count the meals going into the van.
Participants that are new to the service are to be informed of the service, procedures for obtaining and scheduling a ride and be informed about the service contributions. Annually, this information should be made available to all participants.
