Are you a dynamic and experienced freight professional with an established book of business? Whitebull Logistics is seeking a motivated Freight Broker/Agent to join our team and leverage your existing client relationships to drive growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow your own book of business by developing new client relationships and maintaining existing accounts in the freight brokerage sector
- Coordinate transportation logistics across multiple modes including truckload, LTL (less-than-truckload), air freight, and international trade shipments
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with shippers, carriers, and vendors to optimize profitability and service quality
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and other logistics technology platforms to streamline operations
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations such as FDA regulations, international trade laws, and shipping logistics standards
- Provide exceptional customer service through clear communication, timely updates, and proactive problem-solving
- Generate leads through prospecting activities such as cold calling, networking events, and leveraging industry contacts to expand your client base
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, transportation management systems (TMS), and logistics operations
- Proven experience in freight brokerage or transportation sales with a focus on client relationship management
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining strong vendor relationships
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics), freight forwarding logistics, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and shipping logistics processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as CRM software for data entry, lead tracking, and customer communication
- Strong communication skills for inside sales activities including client communication and sales negotiation
Requirements
Active Book of Business: Must have at least one active, direct shipper customer ready to move freight on day one.
Proven Track Record: At least 6 months of verifiable 1099 Independent Freight Agent experience, OR 2+ years of combined W-2 freight brokerage sales (with transferable accounts) and carrier dispatch experience.
Fully Experienced: Zero training is provided. You must know how to price, book, track, and close out loads autonomously.
Home Office Infrastructure: Must own a reliable computer, a dedicated phone line, and high-speed internet access.
