Responsibilities
- Perform data entry for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions with precision and efficiency
- Assist with account reconciliation processes, including balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing journal entries and verifying financial data
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft
- Help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations through diligent documentation and process adherence
- Contribute to payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro
- Collaborate with team members on budgeting, credit analysis, and financial reporting projects to enhance overall financial accuracy
Skills
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian or similar platforms
- Experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex is a plus
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is desirable
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret financial statements and perform account reconciliation tasks effectively
- Basic math skills combined with strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently
