Duties
- Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- medication administration, laboratory testing, and sample collection using aseptic techniques
- Must be able to draw blood , especially from the jugular vein. Be able to place IV catheters. Knowledge of all vaccines, heartworm preventions, flea medications. Surgical monitoring, wrapping packs, and setting up the surgery suite.
- Care for animals through feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and maintaining proper animal husbandry practices
- Help with pet care routines such as bathing, walking dogs, and monitoring animal behavior to promote comfort and well-being
- Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to veterinary critical care standards
- Maintain accurate records of treatments, medications, and procedures using veterinary terminology
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and assisting clients with pet care inquiries
Qualifications
- Must have experience working in a veterinary clinic and references to uphold your quality of work
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices
- Proficient with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques including surgery prep and IV
- Experience with dog handling, animal catheterization, medication administration, and restraint techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. Must have a pleasant ,enthusiastic , and motivated attitude!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 33 – 40 per week
