Position Summary
Liberty Christian Preparatory School seeks a passionate and Christ-centered Upper School Physical Education Teacher to provide engaging instruction for students in grades 6–12. The teacher will promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal responsibility while integrating biblical principles into daily instruction and student interactions.
The Upper School Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that supports the school's mission of developing students academically, physically, spiritually, and socially.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction and Curriculum
- Plan and deliver daily physical education lessons for students in grades 6–12.
- Develop engaging activities that promote physical fitness, athletic skills, health awareness, and lifelong wellness habits.
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records in the school's student information system.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs and abilities of students.
Classroom and Student Management
- Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment.
- Enforce school policies and expectations regarding student conduct.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and Christian character development.
- Supervise students during classes, activities, and designated duty assignments.
Program Management
- Maintain and inventory physical education equipment and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and risk management practices.
- Assist in coordinating field days, fitness events, athletic activities, and other school programs as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
Professional Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and support the mission, vision, and statement of faith of Liberty Christian Preparatory School.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, school events, and required trainings.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow faculty members to support student success.
- Maintain professionalism in appearance, conduct, and communication.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work effectively with middle and high school students.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to integrate Christian values into instruction and student interactions.
Preferred
- FACCS teaching certification
- Previous teaching or coaching experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, run, bend, and actively participate in physical activities throughout the school day.
- Ability to lift and move athletic equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to supervise students in indoor and outdoor settings.
Work Schedule
- Contracted school hours as established by Liberty Christian Preparatory School.
- Attendance at designated school functions, faculty meetings, professional development events, and other required activities.
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
