We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our team as Float CNAs in the Portland Metro area. As a Float CNA, you will provide essential care and support to patients across multiple healthcare facilities. This includes hygiene assistance and providing emotional support and encouragement, monitoring and reporting changes in health and behavior, and supporting the overall needs of those in your care. You will be genuinely interested in supporting residents and their team members. Experience working with agencies is a plus; however, it is not required. Other requirements include valuing and respecting those in your care; having consistent attendance and a reliable method of transportation; the ability to correspond and document properly for resident charting purposes; and excellent communication skills. You will be traveling across Portland, Oregon for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents according to facility protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism in all interactions with patients and their families.
Requirements:
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Oregon.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or assisted living facility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
- Reliable transportation to commute to different facilities within the Portland Metro area.
