Job Overview
We are looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our therapy team. In this role, you will work alongside the Occupational Therapist and Rehab Director to provide high-quality therapy services in skilled nursing and assisted living settings.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist the Occupational Therapists with individualized treatment plans
- Provide hands-on therapy focused on strength, ROM, mobility, functional mobility and ADLs
- Work with geriatric, neurological, and orthopedic patients
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist and/or support staff
- Educate patients and families on therapy activities, exercises and care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and outcomes
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support patient recovery
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications
- Current COTA licensure
- Experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, outpatient, inpatient or home health preferred
- Experience working with geriatric populations strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient progress and treatment outcomes
