Summary: Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Molder/Fitter makes and assembles molds for the production of grey and ductile iron castings.
Work Experience Needed: One to three years of verifiable work history. Foundry experience is preferred.

Molder:
- Completes daily maintenance checklist.
- Inspects boxes for problems before running the 1st mold.
- Vibrate/Rams molds as per established procedures.
- Transports molds out of ‘make’ station and down the conveyor, moves empty boxes into ‘make’ station.
- Completes end of shift duties such as turning off power to machine, cleaning turbo blades, cleaning work area and putting away tools.
- Complete weekly maintenance checklist which involves weekly task of cleaning mixer and pit.
Fitter:
- Inspects, trims, washes and cleans cores to be set in molds.
- Inspects, trims, washes and cleans mold halves, and checks and adjusts corewash and baumes before using.
- Assembles/ fits molds in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately identifies molds with part number, date and letter identification.
- Uses computer to enter in days, production, downtime etc. into the company’s ERP system (Odyssey).
- Keeps service team informed of supplies and parts that are needed in a timely manner.
- Reports any unsafe working conditions and injuries to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Makes suggestions for improving procedures.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally over 50 lbs. with assistance of a hoist. The employee will also be required to push items that weigh more than 100 pounds on a conveyor line (not automated). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
