Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly
- Support medication administration and ensure compliance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling devices to safely transfer residents
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Document patient observations, care activities, and incident reports accurately and thoroughly
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Experience assisting with ADLs, manual handling, and using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities across diverse age groups
- Previous exposure to hospice care, geriatrics, or long-term care environments is advantageous
