Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter that is part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. We are excited to bring Discovery education to the Baton Rouge area through our second corporate partnership with Ochsner Health. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.
Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks an Academic Interventionist with a Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, and/or Curriculum & Instruction; Reading Specialist and/or elementary school certification desirable; 3-5 years+ experience with small group academic support for elementary school students with proven record of increasing literacy and math skills. A strong candidate will have an expertise in how to administer and analyze results from a wide-range of diagnostic assessments, experience with instructional coaching and pushing into classrooms is an asset. Knowledge of the Response to Intervention process is essential. Ability to work in collaboration with a wide array of teachers and school leaders is essential. Knowledge of the Louisiana Student Standards and the current LEAP Assessments is required. Interest in leading extracurricular student activities is a plus. Position available August 2026.
