Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, including pastry creation, cake decorating, and baked goods production, following established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, knives, and other baking tools safely and efficiently
- Package baked items carefully to maintain freshness and presentation for retail sale or catering orders
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service at the cash register, handling transactions accurately and efficiently
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times to uphold food safety management standards
- Support high-volume production during busy periods by managing multiple tasks with speed and precision
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or food industry setting is highly preferred, especially with baking or pastry preparation
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety practices and ability to maintain a clean workspace consistently
- Basic math skills for accurate measurement, portioning, and cash handling
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Passion for baking, culinary arts, or food production is a plus; experience with cake decorating or high-volume baking is desirable
