The welder operates fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines and punches that cut, shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes and structures by performing the following duties below.
Joins, fabricates and repairs metal and other materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. Candidate must be able to calibrate welding machine and preform acceptable welds. Job will require welding work as well as mechanical work.
Qualified candidates should have:
- 2 + years of welding experience with steel and aluminum (Mig and Tig)
- Appropriate tools such as welding helmet, proper gloves, steel toed shoes and handheld drilling tools.
- Must have tool box or tools.
- Able to use torch, grinder, sander and misc. cutting saws.
- Must be able to complete an in person welding test at Shook during the interview process.
- Welding certification a plus
Hours are Monday through Friday, some overtime may be required. Benefits offered include paid holidays, PTO, health, dental and vision insurance.
