Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting to promote independence.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare teams.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the home.
- Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by implementing specialized techniques and ensuring a safe environment.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, medication administration, and any incidents in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to ensure a clean and safe living space for clients.
- Follow care plans meticulously designed by healthcare professionals to meet each client’s unique needs.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction and mental stimulation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in home & community care or assisted living environments; group home experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional training in Alzheimer's or dementia care is preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed care plans accurately.
