We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Virtulaziation Engineer for our customer in Houston, TX.
This position requires a Secret clearance*
Responsibilities
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Expert Linux skills
- Strong background and experience with VMWare
- Strong knowledge of container platforms (Kubernetes)
- Working knowledge of networking
- Working knowledge of storage
- Experience with at least one public cloud provider preferred
- 70% Travel, all travel-related costs covered by customer outside of the standard site.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Deployment Engineer will be responsible for the start-up and integration of proprietary and 3rd party products and services at classified datacenter environments. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience with industry-standard virtualization tools for compute, networking, and storage. The candidate must have an expert understanding of Linux, a strong background with virtualization, knowledge of datacenter networking, and knowledge of datacenter storage. Experience with start-up and integration tasks in a classified environment is required. The candidate should have experience building infrastructure including OS Image lifecycle, STIG processes, and troubleshooting and debugging issues.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, patch, and configure software and virtualization products on top of customers hardware.
- Integrate identity and security across multi-vendor products.
- Plan for and execute adding new tools to the private cloud environment as needed for adding capabilities.
- Remediate security vulnerabilities.
