Nurse Practitioner – Vascular Clinic
Full-Time | Four-Day Workweek | Glen Burnie and Rockville, Maryland
National Vascular Physicians is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our vascular and interventional practice. This is a full-time, four-day-per-week position divided between our Glen Burnie and Rockville locations.
The Nurse Practitioner will be primarily responsible for independently evaluating new consultation and follow-up patients while working collaboratively with our board-certified vascular and interventional physicians and fellow Nurse Practitioner. The position also includes relationship-building with current and prospective referring practices.
Schedule and Locations
- Four days per week
- Two days per week at our Glen Burnie office
- Two days per week at our Rockville office
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work at both locations are required
Key Responsibilities
- Independently conduct new-patient consultations and follow-up visits
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Evaluate vascular conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and the practice’s Nurse Practitioner to coordinate patient care and treatment recommendations
- Order and review appropriate diagnostic studies, imaging, and laboratory testing
- Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and recommended follow-up care
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record
- Coordinate care with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, ultrasound technologists, and administrative team members
- Respond to patient clinical questions and provide appropriate guidance
- Maintain strong professional relationships with existing referring providers and their office teams
- Introduce new medical practices and prospective referral partners to National Vascular Physicians and our service lines
- Participate in ongoing clinical education and professional development
- Perform other clinical responsibilities consistent with the Nurse Practitioner role
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to practice independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and fellow Nurse Practitioners
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent patient care
- Comfortable developing professional relationships and representing the practice in the community
- Vascular, interventional radiology, surgical, or outpatient experience is preferred but not required
