POSITION DESCRIPTION: The part-time Audio-Visual Leader is responsible for leading and executing all technical and production elements of church services, events, and media environments, including audio, lighting, video, and staging. This role ensures modern, high-quality, consistent, and spiritually sensitive production, while also recruiting, training, and developing volunteer teams to support these functions. This position reports to the Director of Music and Senior Pastor. The Audio-Visual Leader serves to create a distraction-free, engaging, and excellent environment for worship through technical excellence in sound, lighting, and video. This position involves managing the technical production of weekend services and special events, as well as overseeing the maintenance, upgrades, and inventory of all AV equipment. In addition, the Audio-Visual Leader should be experienced in recruiting and developing a volunteer-based AV support team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Production Leadership & Execution: Oversee the audio, video, lighting, and staging for all church services, conferences, and events.
- Live Stream & Broadcast: Manage the online worship experience, ensuring high-quality audio and video for in-person and online audiences.
- Volunteer Team Development: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor volunteers to operate soundboards, cameras, and presentation software.
- Equipment Maintenance & Strategy: Maintain, repair, and upgrade AVL equipment, including soundboards, lighting consoles, cameras, and computers to ensure all equipment is optimal for weekly broadcasting and streaming services.
- Budgeting: Manage the AV budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of equipment and resources.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with creative teams to produce videos, graphics, and other media to enhance services and communicate with the congregation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Worship Pastor or Director of Creative Arts to ensure technical production aligns with the service’s creative vision.
OTHER:
- Submits payment voucher requests, when necessary
- Prepares and submits an annual budget and activity report, to include all phases of operation and other reports, as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Music and Senior Pastor
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of sound systems and familiarity with techniques of quality sound broadcasting, live streaming relevant and current social media platforms.
- Excellent computer program and application knowledge and skills
- Must be trained in the operation of the church’s system(s)
- Must have good communication skills
- Must regularly attend church services and events
- Be a born-again Christian preferred
Pay: $150.00 - $170.00 per week
