Position Title: Senior WASH Technical Advisor
Department: International Programs, Technical Programs Development & Impact
Position Location: Remote, East Coast working hours (South Florida preferred)
Reports to: Senior Director, Technical Programs Development and Impact (TPDI)
Position Summary:
The Senior WASH Technical Advisor serves as the organization's subject matter expert for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene programming (WASH). The position provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of WASH projects implemented through local Catholic partner organizations globally. The specialist ensures that programs are technically sound, aligned with international standards, responsive to community needs, and capable of achieving sustainable outcomes.
The ideal candidate is someone who integrates technical expertise with program design, MEAL, and partner capacity strengthening. They should be comfortable moving between developing a global WASH guidance manual, facilitating a Theory of Change workshop with a diocesan partner, reviewing a borehole design, helping establish outcome indicators, mentoring partner staff during implementation, and using monitoring data to improve future programs.
Educational or Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
Experience Requirements:
· 5+ years of experience in international WASH program management.
· Proven expertise in creating and delivering training materials for diverse audiences.
· Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative M&E frameworks.
· Strong understanding of project design, monitoring, and evaluation methodologies.
· Experience working with international NGOs or development agencies. Cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Strong organizational and project management skills. Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
· Preferred: Field experience in Africa and/or Latin America.
· Preferred: Spanish language fluency.

o Ensure WASH monitoring and evaluation data quality
· Implementation Support and Quality Assurance
o Provide technical oversight throughout project implementation.
o Conduct field monitoring visits to assess quality, compliance, sustainability, and community engagement.
o Review engineering designs, construction quality, and implementation progress.
o Recommend increased sustainability and community ownership initiatives.
o Promote safeguarding principles throughout project implementation.

o Can work successfully with Dioceses, Catholic NGOs, religious congregations, community leaders, and Government technical officers.

Duties:
- Ability to work East Coast Time (USA).
- Domestic and/or international travel 6-12 weeks a year. This position requires occasional domestic and/or international travel to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, or organizational events. Travel may be conducted by airplane, automobile, bus, or other reasonable means. Travel frequency is expected to be limited and scheduled in advance when possible.
- Participate in CCO field-based initiatives as required.
- Attend and participate in the IPG Leadership Team meetings.
- Attend/participate in CCO devotions, Bible, and book studies.
- This role requires the ability to perform standard office functions, including prolonged sitting, standing, and computer use. Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $76,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
