You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our dogs while ensuring their well-being through attentive handling and care. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, and maintaining play yards
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in food room, laundry room, and common spaces to promote hygiene and prevent the spread of disease
- Monitor animals closely for signs of illness or distress and communicate observations to vet techs
- Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, treatments, and behaviors
- Handle dogs safely using proper techniques to ensure their comfort and safety
- Assist with dog training activities to promote good behavior and socialization skills
- Interact professionally & kindly with potential adopters, volunteers, and fosters by providing information on our dogs' personalities and answering questions confidently
- Support vet technicians with basic procedures, including animal restraint and assisting during examinations or treatments
- Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals clean and healthy
Skills
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to animal welfare
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Basic understanding and ability to see changes in animal health and behavior
- Strong communication skills to be able to effectively converse with potential adopters, fosters, volunteers, and team members
- Ability to safely lift large animals, bags of food, etc
- Experience in animal care, dog training and/or behavioral management is a plus
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices to maintain animals’ hygiene and appearance is a plus

Pay: From $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
