Job Position Summary: You will be responsible to set up and operate machine tools to process machine metal work pieces according to project specifications, tooling instructions and standard charts.
You must have:

A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred.

3+ yrs Experience performing set ups and operating an EDM Machine
-
Experience in the Aerospace industry.

Strong Attention to details

Basic computer skills

The ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.

The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets.
-
The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
-
The ability to follow set up instructions, set up, and operate machine controls.

The ability to Troubleshoot machines.
-
Skills in performing precision work on parts with close tolerance between interrelated surfaces.

The ability to work overtime, including weekends
In your role, you will:
-
Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
-
Operate electrical-discharge machines to shape metal workpieces to specifications, following standard charts.
-
Obtains from job order or verbal instructions such information as electrode to be used, depth setting, and number of work pieces or cavities to be shaped.

Reads blueprints or job orders to obtain product specifications (dimensions and tolerances) and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools).

Positions and secure work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures using clamps and wrenches.

Sets specified parameter setting needed in accordance with product specifications and tooling instructions.

Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment and work area.
-
Observes operation and verifies conformance of machined work pieces to specifications using measuring instruments such as fixed gauges, calipers, comparators, and micrometers.

Grinding Electrodes

Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.

Maintain specifications by trouble shooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools, observing tooling; taking measurements; detecting malfunction.

Maintain a clean organized work area.
Working Conditions:
-
Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.

May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:

Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.

May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.

Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
