Allied Health Career Training is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing educational team. This role focuses on teaching and supporting students in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aid (CMA) programs, with occasional opportunities to assist with Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) courses.
This is an excellent fit for nurses who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and helping students build confidence and real-world skills in a supportive learning environment. No prior teaching experience is required. Training and support are provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and skills instruction for CNA and CMA students
- Assist with BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses as needed (training provided if needed)
- Facilitate hands-on skills labs and demonstrations
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, competencies, and student progress
- Support student learning in skills lab and clinical environments
Qualifications
- Current Kansas RN license in good standing (required)
- Minimum two years experience supervising CNAs or nursing assistants as an LPN or RN (required)
- Long-term care experience preferred but not required
- Strong clinical nursing background
- Ability to work with adult learners in a classroom or lab environment
Schedule
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 30–40 hours per week. Consistent Tuesday and Thursday daytime availability is required. Class schedules vary throughout the week and may include daytime, afternoon, evening, and weekend instruction. One weekend off per month is guaranteed.
Pay
$32.00 – $36.00 per hour, based on experience
