POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the execution of the restaurant’s menu items. This role requires a commitment to maintaining the culinary integrity of Zetton, Inc. standards. In synchronization with the Sous Chef and kitchen and service teams, the Line Cook plays a
vital role in ensuring a seamless guest experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Read food orders or receive verbal instructions on food required by guests, and prepare and cook food accordingly.
- Plate prepared foods based on the chef’s guidance.
- Work with front-of-house staff to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that orders are completed according to request and to ensure efficient service.
- Assist in managing inventory and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures meet food safety standards and regulations.
- Handle food products safely, including proper storage and labeling.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Perform other shift duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the restaurant setting is preferred.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and methods.
- Excellent knife skills and ability to follow recipes efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams.
- A proactive approach to following guest requests and dietary restrictions accurately.
- Ability to stand and move quickly for long periods in a high-temperature kitchen environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
