Bayshore Produce is seeking an experienced Produce Receiver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate has experience receiving fresh produce, inspecting product quality, identifying produce defects, and ensuring all incoming shipments meet company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload fresh produce deliveries from growers/vendors.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and receiving documents.
- Inspect produce for quality, freshness, condition, temperature, and any signs of damage/defects.
- Report quality issues, shortages, or discrepancies to management.
- Ensure products are properly labeled and stored according to company procedures.
- Rotate inventory following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records.
- Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards.
- Operate pallet jacks and forklifts safely.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience receiving produce in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of fresh fruits and vegetables, including quality standards and grading.
- Ability to identify product defects, damage, and quality concerns.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a refrigerated environment.
- Forklift/palletjack experience
