Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and other heavy equipment components using schematics and specialized tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension checks, and alignment adjustments to keep machinery operating smoothly.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records including inspection reports, repair logs, schematics documentation, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards.
- Assist in heavy lifting operations and perform heavy equipment servicing with safety as a priority.
- Support customer service efforts by providing expert advice on vehicle maintenance and repairs to clients or team members.
Skills
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and automotive diagnostics.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and heavy equipment operation.
- Proficient with the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering devices, and other maintenance tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on construction machinery or farm equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues involving heavy machinery such as excavators or cranes.
- Knowledge of construction equipment servicing standards and safety protocols; familiarity with OEM specifications is a plus.
