We are looking for a Virtual Support Lead who shares this commitment and is excited to use technology and creativity to provide meaningful virtual learning and support experiences to participants across all programs. This is a full-time, Monday - Friday position with a 40 hour work week. While this position is primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings may be required. In-Person office located in Antioch.
About the Role
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Virtual Support Lead provides virtual supervision, support, instruction, and person-centered community-based learning experiences for adults with I/DD.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, facilitating engaging virtual activities, developing creative learning opportunities, and helping individuals achieve greater independence.
You will work closely with participants, staff, the Program Coordinator, and/or Program Director to develop and deliver virtual workshops that support individual goals and interests.
What You’ll Do
- Provide virtual supervision, support, instruction, and training using Zoom, Google Meet, and similar platforms.
Create engaging virtual workshops and activities focused on:
- Independent living and daily living skill, Social skills, communication, and self-advocacy
- Community integration and travel training
- Budgeting and money management
- Computer and technology skills
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Health and safety
- Art, music, gardening, recreation, and cultural activities
- Education, reading, and academic skills
- Personal care and mobility
- Volunteer and job-related skills
- Relaxation, sensory, and wellness experiences
Support participants in achieving individualized goals while promoting choice, independence, and self-advocacy.
Help participants explore interests and discover new opportunities through creative and innovative virtual programming.
Assist participants in accessing online resources, educational materials, and community resources.
Support the development of friendships, relationships, social skills, and appropriate behavior.
Create opportunities for participants to choose, practice, learn, demonstrate, and experience greater independence.
Track staff schedules, workshop topics, and lesson plans.
Develop and maintain monthly calendars and lesson plans for virtual workshops.
Facilitate a weekly team meeting.
Attend weekly check-in meetings with the Program Coordinator
Conduct monthly training to continually expand staff technical and virtual facilitation knowledge.
Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Program Director, and team members through scheduled virtual meetings and required trainings.
Maintain accurate participant records, databases, case notes, and program documentation, including documentation in Case Magic.
Assist with Individual Service Plans (ISPs), including identifying supports, activities, and resources needed to help participants achieve personal goals.
Complete thorough, concise, and understandable daily charting and case notes.
Document and summarize participant progress for annual and semi-annual meetings and attend meetings as requested.
Required Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a human services or educational organization, with at least some experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- LiveScan criminal record clearance (or exemption) prior to start.
- Health Screening and TB Test clearance prior to start.

- MUST BE WILLING TO ATTEND IN-PERSON MEETINGS AND TRAININGS AS REQUIRED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Lanterman Act, Regional Center guidelines, and California licensing regulations.
- Experience developing person-centered programming or supporting Individual Service Plans.
- Experience facilitating virtual programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Experience providing staff training or mentoring.
- Experience developing creative educational, recreational, vocational, or community-based programming.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily an office/indoor and virtual work environment.
- Frequent use of a computer, tablet, and other technology throughout the workday.
- Ability to type and complete electronic case notes and other documentation.
- Physical stamina to safely and effectively perform assigned duties.
