Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our clinic and in ensuring a positive patient experience. Your responsibilities will include:
Patient Care:
- Greeting patients and preparing them for examinations and procedures.
- Taking patient histories and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, height).
- Administering vaccinations as directed by the physician.
- Performing phlebotomy and collecting other laboratory specimens.
- Assisting physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Performing EKGs.
- Documenting patient information accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR).
Clinical Support:
- Preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining clean and organized examination rooms and work areas.
- Managing inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Processing prescription refills and prior authorizations.
- Performing basic laboratory tests.
Administrative Tasks:
- Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.
- Managing patient records and ensuring confidentiality.
- Handling insurance inquiries and referrals.
- Assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) preferred.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting (family practice experience a plus).
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, administering injections, and performing phlebotomy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, must be able to type.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- A positive attitude, empathy, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
