Faith Lutheran Church is seeking a Part-Time Preschool 3K-4K Teacher. The position includes some administrative tasks along with teaching responsibilities in our 3K-4K classroom. We operate Monday-Friday, 8:30-11:30 am.
We are licensed through the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) and offer small class sizes with two teachers in the classroom. We are a play-based preschool with curriculum guided by the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) and are rooted in sharing the love of Jesus Christ with every child.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Develop and maintain the preschool calendar.
- Work with the executive board to market the preschool and promote enrollment.
- Facilitate classroom tours for prospective families.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and church leadership
- Coordinate continuing education opportunities for staff.
- Ensure the facility, curriculum, and operations comply with DCF regulations.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging daily lesson plans for 3K and 4K students.
- Establish classroom routines that promote learning, confidence, independence, and self-regulation.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Support positive classroom behavior management.
- Build strong relationships with students and families.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and administration.
General Responsibilities
- Attend church and preschool related activities, including fundraising events and other designated functions.
- Report to the Pastor and/or Executive Board.
Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Meet Wisconsin DCF qualifications for both Center Director and Childcare Teacher.
- Previous experience as a teacher or assistant teacher in a group child care center preferred.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in early childhood education or childhood development are preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask while balancing administrative and classroom responsibilities.
- Maintains a lifestyle congruent with the teachings of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
