Delta Orthopedics is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and knowledgeable Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing orthopedic practice in a virtual/telehealth capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care remotely.
This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who enjoys working directly with patients, educating them about their conditions, and developing treatment plans while working in a collaborative orthopedic environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual orthopedic patient consultations and follow-up visits.
- Obtain and review patient histories, symptoms, and relevant medical information.
- Evaluate and assess common orthopedic conditions and musculoskeletal complaints.
- Review imaging, including X-rays, MRI, and other diagnostic studies.
- Develop and discuss appropriate treatment plans under the direction of the supervising physician.
- Educate patients regarding their diagnosis, treatment options, medications, exercises, and preventative care.
- Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress.
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR.
- Communicate effectively with the physician and in-office clinical team regarding patient care.
- Identify patients who require an in-person evaluation or additional testing.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable regulations.
- Provide a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered telehealth experience.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the applicable state(s).
- NCCPA certification preferred/required.
- Previous orthopedic, sports medicine, pain management, or musculoskeletal experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable providing care through telehealth platforms.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the orthopedic team.
- Strong computer and EMR skills.
- Excellent bedside manner and ability to make patients feel comfortable during virtual visits.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is professional, personable, dependable, and genuinely enjoys helping patients. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently during virtual visits while knowing when to involve the physician or recommend an in-person evaluation.
A candidate who is bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, as we serve a diverse patient population; however, Spanish proficiency is not required for the position.
