Reports To: Operations Manager / Owner
Are you a seasoned metal fabricator with leadership skills? We're looking for a motivated professional to join our team and oversee day-to-day shop operations. Help drive quality, efficiency, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
- Fabricate custom metal components using shop equipment (CNC, shears, welders,
brakes, etc.)
- Lead a team of fabricators and welders with hands-on guidance and clear direction
- Train and mentor junior team members in best practices and safety procedures
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely job completion
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and craftsmanship
- Oversee inventory levels and assist with workflow scheduling
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of metal fabrication experience (cutting, bending, welding, finishing, etc.)
- 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role
- Strong knowledge of materials (aluminum, steel, stainless) and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Safety-first mindset and attention to detail
Preferred Experience:
- Architectural or custom fabrication (e.g., signage, railings, structures)
- CNC/plasma cutting systems
- Forklift certification
