Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote comfort and independence
- Support with meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition tailored to individual dietary needs
- Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community activities to enhance clients’ social engagement and mobility
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment to uphold hygiene standards
- Utilize specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safe manual handling during patient transfers or repositioning
- Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations and activities while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or senior care in settings such as group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams
- Certified in First Aid and CPR; additional certifications in manual handling, patient transfer methods, or HIPAA compliance are a plus
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility; manual handling skills required for safe patient transfers
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care that enhances quality of life
- PSS certification is a MUST within 9 months of hire date
