Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a dynamic educational environment. The Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in designing engaging curriculum, implementing individualized learning plans, and fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes growth, curiosity, and confidence. Duties
- Lead classroom activities that support early childhood development and accommodate diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities and developmental delays.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support students’ individualized education programs (IEPs) and overall progress.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and teaching aides, providing guidance on classroom management, lesson planning, and instructional best practices.
- Conduct ongoing assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain detailed records of student development, IEPs, communication logs, and progress reports to ensure compliance with educational standards.
- Engage families through regular communication about their child's milestones, challenges, and tailored intervention strategies.
- Foster an inclusive classroom culture that values diversity, promotes literacy education, and encourages active participation from all students.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English + Spanish (required)
- Experience working with toddlers or preschoolers
- Ability to create a calm, supportive environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma required; CDA or ECE coursework
- Must pass all background checks required by DHS
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings or special education environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
- Ability to lead by example while mentoring team members to deliver high-quality instruction.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
