Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on HR Generalist to join our growing team at our US manufacturing facility. In this role, you will manage the full employee lifecycle and serve as a vital bridge between HR and our plant Operations Team. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possesses deep administrative expertise in a Payroll/HRIS system. From talent acquisition to onboarding, compliance, and daily floor support, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining an engaged, efficient, and compliant workforce.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full HR Cycle & Talent Management
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for both hourly plant positions and salaried roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
- Design and facilitate a seamless, welcoming onboarding experience that accelerates time-to-productivity for new hires and emphasizes safety/company culture.
- Coordinate offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, and analyze turnover trends to recommend retention strategies.
2. Payroll Administration & HRIS Management
- Serve as the primary system administrator for the Payroll/HRIS system (HRIS, Applicant Tracking, Performance Management, and Time & Attendance modules).
- Maintain accurate digital employee records, processing data changes, promotions, terminations, and benefits enrollment.
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate tracking of hours, shift differentials, and attendance policy enforcement for manufacturing personnel.
3. On-Site Operations Partnership
- Act as the primary, visible HR contact for the manufacturing Operations Team, spending time on the plant floor to build trust and understand operational needs.
- Provide guidance and coaching to floor supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Support conflict resolution and conduct objective internal investigations as necessary.
4. Compliance & Generalist Duties
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local manufacturing labor laws (e.g., OSHA recordkeeping, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and EEO).
- Assist in the administration of company-wide benefits programs, annual open enrollment, and workers' compensation claims tracking.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and safety culture partnerships alongside the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team.
- Perform other HR projects and duties as assigned to support a mid-sized growing business.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Experience: 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, specifically within a manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with both frontline hourly workers and executive leadership.
- Problem Solving: Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous situations in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
- Prior experience dealing with workers' compensation claims and OSHA compliance logs.
- Systems: Demonstrated, hands-on experience utilizing Paycom for HRIS and/or payroll administration.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This is an on-site position located at our manufacturing facility.
- Daily presence on the production floor is required, which involves exposure to manufacturing noise, moving mechanical parts, and standard industrial safety requirements (PPE required).
Pay: $55,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
