About This Role
The Learning Gate seeks a seasoned Lead Teacher for our Toddler program. This role demands hands-on classroom leadership, curriculum implementation, and a passion for early childhood development.
Key responsibilities include coordinating the curriculum, developing a cohesive teaching team, and overseeing day-to-day classroom operations.
To thrive in this role, one must be knowledgeable about children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, ensuring a safe and engaging classroom environment.
Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with children and adults, guiding teacher assistants, and resolving parental concerns.
What You'll Do

Develop and implement engaging educational curriculum for toddlers, incorporating developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.

Lead by example, fostering a collaborative team environment, and providing guidance and support to the teaching team.

Design and execute age-appropriate activities to promote children's social, cognitive, and emotional growth.

Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and conferences.

Ensure adherence to center policies and state regulations.

Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, prioritizing hygiene, cleanliness, and children's safety.

Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow established protocols and safety standards.

Manage accurate records, forms, and files in a timely and organized manner.

Establish and maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous quality improvement.
Requirements

Must clear a full background check.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

Experience with toddlers (ages 2 to 3).

Infant/Toddler or Preschool CDA.

Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.

High energy and ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and foster a team environment.

Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

Ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, and hear and speak at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

A strong understanding of child development.

A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field.
