Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety through vigilant child supervision and effective behavior management.
- Plan and facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, sports, outdoor play, and educational games that promote social skills and creativity.
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment and encourage respectful interactions among children.
- Provide first aid and respond to emergencies following established protocols; hold current CPR and AED certifications to ensure prompt assistance when needed.
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention to foster inclusive participation.
- Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curricula that support childhood development and early childhood education principles.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, attendance, incident reports, and progress notes to ensure clear communication with parents and staff.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to handle behavioral challenges effectively.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols for emergency response.
- Experience in special education or working with children with diverse learning needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent child supervision abilities paired with patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
- Ability to lead outdoor work activities safely while encouraging outdoor play and physical activity.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively within a dynamic environment.

Pay: $14.50 - $15.00 per hour
