About the Role:
Suzano is expanding its operations in the U.S. and is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to join our team at the paper manufacturing facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional to grow within a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to quality system improvements, process monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, analytically minded, and ready to apply their academic background in a hands-on industrial setting.
What You’re Going to Do:
Quality System Support & Improvement:
Support the review and implementation of quality management system tools to enhance product quality.
Assist cross-functional teams in maintaining adherence to quality standards and improving product acceptance levels.
Work alongside production and engineering teams to help identify and reduce non-quality losses.
Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis:
Apply problem-solving methodologies to assist in identifying quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
Conduct basic statistical analysis to monitor product quality trends and support compliance with internal standards.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis activities under the guidance of senior engineers.
Process Control & Monitoring:
Assist in monitoring process control systems to support optimal production quality.
Use tools such as SAP and Excel to track quality metrics, compile data, and flag areas for improvement.
Learn and apply quality standards across operational processes, contributing to a continuous improvement culture.
What We Expect from You:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (recently obtained or expected).
Prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
Basic understanding of quality management concepts and process control principles.
Familiarity with problem-solving and statistical analysis tools (coursework or internship exposure accepted).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to SAP is a plus but not required.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to develop technical and operational expertise.
