Position Summary
Our Interventional Pain Practice is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training or a strong clinical focus in sports medicine, particularly shoulder and knee conditions.
This is an opportunity to develop and lead a comprehensive orthopedic service line within an established, physician-owned musculoskeletal practice in Bergen County. The position offers immediate clinical infrastructure, access to established hospital and ambulatory surgery center facilities, strong administrative support, and the autonomy to build a high-quality orthopedic practice.
The ideal candidate is clinically excellent, patient-focused, entrepreneurial, and interested in developing lasting relationships with physicians, physical therapists, athletic programs, and other community partners.
Clinical Focus
* Evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic shoulder, knee, hip, and sports-related injuries
* Arthroscopic and open shoulder and knee procedures, including rotator cuff, labral, meniscal, ligament, and cartilage pathology
* Evidence-based nonsurgical management when surgery is not indicated
* Collaborative management of complex musculoskeletal patients with pain medicine and rehabilitation providers
* Postoperative care and development of standardized clinical pathways
Responsibilities
* Provide outpatient orthopedic consultations and follow-up care
* Perform appropriate orthopedic surgical procedures at affiliated facilities
* Establish a consistent operative schedule as the practice develops
* Work collaboratively with pain-management clinicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and referring physicians
* Participate in community outreach and ethical practice-development activities
* Maintain complete, timely, and accurate medical documentation
* Support quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and efficient clinical operations
Qualifications
* MD or DO degree
* Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency
* Fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine preferred
* Board certified or board eligible in orthopedic surgery
* Eligible for an unrestricted New Jersey medical license
* Eligible for hospital and ambulatory surgery center privileges
* Excellent surgical judgment, communication skills, and bedside manner
* Interest in building a long-term practice in Bergen County, Passaic County, Essex County
