Registered Nurse (RN) – Detention Center
Location: Roanoke, VA

Shift: Rotating
Schedule: 3 shifts per week
Shift Length: 12 hours
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals housed at the Roanoke, VA The RN will work collaboratively with healthcare and correctional staff to ensure safe, timely, and quality patient care in a secure environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, assessment, and treatment to patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor patients and recognize changes in health conditions.
- Perform health assessments, vital signs, and nursing interventions.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care.
- Assist with sick-call services and ongoing patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and facility protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.
- Provide care while following all security requirements of the detention facility.
Requirements:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS / CPR certification required.
- Previous correctional, emergency, acute care, or behavioral health experience is a plus.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a secure/correctional environment.
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
