Summary
We are representing a multifamily builder looking to add an Assistant Superintendent to its San Diego field team. The position will be hands-on in the field, supporting the execution of large-scale, ground-up multifamily projects alongside experienced project leadership. Natural fit for someone who has built a solid foundation in multifamily construction and is ready to take on more ownership of trade coordination, scheduling, quality, and day-to-day field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day field operations and subcontractor coordination
- Assist with project scheduling, short-term look-aheads, and site logistics
- Coordinate trades and monitor work for schedule, quality, and safety
- Review plans, specifications, and field conditions to identify potential issues
- Track daily construction activities and project progress
- Coordinate material deliveries, manpower, and site requirements
- Assist with inspections, punch lists, and quality control
- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents throughout construction
- Support project closeout and turnover activities
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of construction field experience
- Ground-up multifamily construction experience required
- Experience on larger-scale multifamily projects preferred
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Experience with framing, concrete, MEP, and finish phases preferred
- Strong communication and field coordination skills
- Bluebeam and Microsoft Office experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered
