Job Summary:
The Preschool Assistant Teacher & School Van Driver supports the lead teachers in daily classroom activities and ensures the safe transportation of students to and from school. This dual-role position is perfect for someone who loves working with children and has a clean driving record with the ability to safely operate a school vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson plans
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, learning activities, and meals
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and classroom events
Transportation:
- Safely operate the school van for student pick-ups and drop-offs
- Ensure all students are properly seated and secured in safety restraints
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow all traffic laws and school safety procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; early childhood education coursework preferred
- Previous experience working with young children is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass background checks and child safety screenings
