Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our logistics operations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight across various routes. Your expertise in operating different types of trucks and trailers will be essential in maintaining our high standards for safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will be working 37 hours for an Amazon block. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your driving skills while contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles to transport freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Deliver freight accurately and on schedule while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption while managing multiple delivery schedules.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with commercial vehicles requiring a CDL A license.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with load securing techniques for freight including freight handling on different truck configurations.
- Ability to drive safely over long distances while managing route driving responsibilities efficiently.
- Experience with delivery driver operations including load & unload procedures.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to refrigerated transport, tanker operations, and heavy-duty truck driving.
