American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Hospice position in a large rural and urban service area in Maine, requiring a valid ME or compact RN license and at least 1 year of home health experience.

Home health/hospice care setting serving both rural and urban populations across a large geographic service area

Adult patient population only
-
Typical caseload of 4–5 patients per day; admission days may involve 2–3 patients

Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Every other weekend required, with potential for less frequency (ideally once a month)

Holidays worked on a rotating basis with permanent staff

On-call responsibilities are possible but minimized when possible

EMR is a computerized charting system (not Epic or Cerner)

13-week contract

Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of home health experience required

Valid driver's license and personal auto insurance required

Ability to navigate large geographic territory, including rural routes in varying weather conditions

COVID vaccination required

The service area spans both North and South regions, with approximately 2 hours of driving distance between them; nurses are assigned within a reasonable radius (up to 1 hour), though winter weather conditions may affect assignments

Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate

Supervisor support is available Monday–Friday and on-call after hours

Dress code: black or khaki pants with a white, black, or purple top

Candidates should be comfortable using GPS/navigation tools and driving in winter weather conditions
