Position Title: Teacher
Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Principal
Position Overview:
We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and faith-filled 2nd Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community. This teacher will play a vital role in fostering students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth during this important year, particularly as students prepare to receive the Sacraments. The ideal candidate will create a warm, structured classroom environment rooted in Catholic values and a love for learning. Candidates are not required to be Catholic.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging instruction across all core subject areas, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies

Provide direct instruction in religion and actively integrate Catholic teachings and Gospel values throughout the day

Prepare students for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, in collaboration with parish staff and school leadership

Foster a classroom community centered on kindness, respect, responsibility, and faith

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students

Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with families

Maintain consistent, positive classroom management practices

Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support student success

Participate in school Masses, prayer services, and other faith-based activities

Maintain strong communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and sacramental preparation
Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field

Valid teaching certification (state licensure required)

Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education

Practicing Catholic preferred, especially given the role in sacramental preparation, or willingness to actively support the Catholic identity of the school

Strong classroom management and organizational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience teaching primary grades, particularly 2nd grade

Familiarity with early literacy and foundational math instruction

Experience or comfort with sacramental preparation for young students

Ability to create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment

Experience differentiating instruction and supporting a range of learners
