Overview night shifts 7p-7a
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings, including home community care, nursing homes, and retirement homes. Your commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you serve will be key in helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence.
Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each person.
- Facilitate participation in community activities and social events to promote inclusion.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
- Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, nursing home settings, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- A compassionate attitude towards providing care and support to individuals in need.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Flexibility in scheduling is important; availability for various shifts may be required.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
