The New Interdisciplinary School (NIS), a nonprofit early childhood center in Yaphank, NY, is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist to join our collaborative and joyful community!
At NIS, we support children from birth to five years old, including those with and without special needs. Our mission is simple but powerful: to create an inclusive, supportive, and developmentally rich environment where every child can grow, communicate, and thrive.
What You’ll Do
As part of our interdisciplinary team, you’ll make a meaningful impact every day by:
- Providing speech-language therapy aligned with each child’s IEP
- Conducting speech and language evaluations as needed
- Maintaining therapy logs, documentation, and reports
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to support each child’s success
- Participating in team meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Assisting with special projects and program initiatives
- Lifting and assisting children (up to 45 lbs) as part of daily activities
- Travel to multiple location, Yaphank, Islip, Medford, Middle Island

- Integrated Classrooms
What We’re Looking For
- NYS License in Speech-Language Pathology or TSSLD certification (required)
- Early childhood experience preferred
- A positive, team-oriented mindset
- Passion for working with young children and families
