General Responsibility:
The Human Resources Generalist supports and facilitates key administrative processes and services across multiple functional areas within Human Resources. Responsibilities include managing and maintaining employee records, generating reports, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance. This role serves as a true HR Generalist, contributing across all HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and overall HR operations.
Significant Duties:
· Provides comprehensive customer service and HR support to all employees, serving as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries.
· Supports employee investigations by collecting statements from employees and witnesses, compiling investigation reports, and drafting appropriate closure documentation.
· Manages the full lifecycle of protected medical leaves, including FMLA, CFRA, FEHA, and personal leave policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. Maintains accurate tracking, documentation, and communication throughout the leave process.
· Responds to and processes SDI claims in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and internal procedures.
· Administers the full scope of employee health benefits, including enrollments, status changes, and payroll deductions. Ensures data accuracy by resolving discrepancies, managing missing benefits information, and maintaining proper documentation of medical waivers in collaboration with the HR Manager.
· Provides general administrative and operational support to the HR Department, contributing to the execution of HR programs, projects, and day-to-day functions.
· Partners closely with management to administer employee terminations in compliance with state laws, ensuring timely and accurate communication with all relevant parties.
· Processes employee separations, including but not limited to the administration and organization of termination files, completion of system updates (e.g., Supply Zone), and the accurate transition of employee and benefits records from active to terminated status.
· Serves as a resource to employees and management by interpreting and clarifying HR policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with company standards.
· Consistently performs in accordance with organizational values, policies, and procedures, and actively promotes a culture aligned with company core values.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required, AA/BA Degree preferred.
· Two or more years of HR Generalist preferred, preferably knowledge in construction practices and procedures.
· Ability to speak, write, and read Spanish is preferred.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
· Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures as it relates to wage and hour, and employment laws.
· Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
The position of Human Resources Generalist requires that you are able to lift objects that weight up to 15 pounds, squat, kneel, twist, bend, and work above head and below waist. Ability to sit long periods, stand, walk, climb stairs and use of hands, fingers, wrists, and arms.
