Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Dietary Services District Manager to oversee the dietary operations across multiple healthcare facilities (long-term care). In this role, you'll lead and support dietary teams, ensuring that residents and patients receive nutritious, safe, and personalized meal services. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of care, compliance with health regulations, and efficient department management. Duties
- Lead and supervise dietary staff across multiple locations, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to residents’ nutritional needs, including specialized diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation requirements.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine appropriate dietary interventions and monitor progress regularly.
- Oversee budgeting processes for the dietary departments, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations, safety standards, and company policies related to food handling, assisted living facilities, and patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall care plans and provide health coaching when needed.
- Manage dietary department operations efficiently by supervising meal preparation, managing inventory, and maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in dietary services in long term care - required
- Strong knowledge of sanitation, kitchen management/ operations, & nutrition.
- Experience with patient assessment techniques and specialized diets.
- Supervising experience with a focus on team development and leadership in a healthcare or dietary context.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and resource management within a dietary department.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, residents, families, and team members.
