Overview
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee all aspects of facilities maintenance and engineering operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of building systems while supporting a high-quality care environment.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience, technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, and a commitment to maintaining safe, compliant, and well-functioning facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance department, promoting safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
- Manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset tracking using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, life safety standards, and applicable codes.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Oversee facility improvement projects while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Direct the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation for maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships and maintenance budgets as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in facilities or maintenance management.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with CMMS software and preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and healthcare facility safety standards.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, including high- and low-voltage equipment.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop maintenance staff.
