EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position focuses on inspecting construction work and materials to ensure compliance with permits, plans, and environmental standards. The work supports safe, accurate, and responsible completion of civil, environmental, and mine reclamation projects. As an Environmental Projects Construction Inspector, you will perform the following duties:

Plan Compliance: Review permits, plans, and specifications to apply contract requirements during inspections

Work Evaluation: Accept or reject materials and workmanship based on contract standards

Erosion Control: Inspect erosion and sedimentation devices and document findings in written reports

Blast Monitoring: Check blasting activities for compliance with approved plans and safety regulations

Field Documentation: Record daily project activities, quantities, and conditions using computers and digital tools

Complaint Review: Investigate mine-related complaints and prepare written reports with observations and recommendations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, reporting to Cambria District Office on an as needed basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ebensburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

This is a field position that will cover project sites in the following Western PA counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Cambria, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Fayette, Indiana, Jefferson, Somerset, Washington, and Westmoreland.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).
