American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and active GA or compact RN licensure.

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)

Emergency Department setting within a hospital
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

Epic EMR used
-
13-week contract
-
Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Local candidates are accepted for this position

RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the listed shift is firm

Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period: if one or two major holidays occur, travelers must be available to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays occur, travelers must work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review

Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to begin on time; delays result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
